I'm Back!

We spent the weekend in sunny Florida. We had a blast. It was cool, but it didn't stop the kids and the hubby from getting in the water. Hopefully now, I can get back started on some stampin'. Here is a photo of the sunset the first night we were there:

It was beautiful. We went walking on the beach and we went crabbing. Caught a few sand crabs, and the kids thought that was cool. It was a bit windy, and Cheyenne (my 6 yr. old) said, it's not as I had imagined." I asked her what she had imagined and she said "not so many waves". The water was pretty rough the first day we were there. We had a wonderful time.

I am having to go no post for a few days, will update later....Thanks for understanding.

Box Template and instructions

I hope these make sense. You can make this box any size you wish, and any depth you wish. If you would like it to be a 5 inch box that is 1 inch deep, you would need to cut a piece of cardstock 7 x 7. Score each side at 1 inch. The top you need to add 1/8". So, your cardstock would be 7 1/8 x 7 1/8. Score at 1 inch. Cut the scored folds on opposite ends to make flaps that you fold in and adhere. Use a circle punch to punch a half circle for easy gripping. If you want the box to be 6 inches wide and 1 inch deep, You would need to cut your cardstock 8 x 8. Score at 1" on all sides. Make top 1/8" bigger. Make sense? I want to make sure I give credit where it is due, and Terri sent me this wonderful box in a swap, so, Terri, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Cut on solid lines and score on dashed lines. Hope this helps everyone~~~

5 x 7 wood frame

This was made from a 5 x 7 wood rectangle frame. This is my darling daughter last year at Halloween time. Cheyenne was a ballerina. I used mostly the Creepy Crawly Designer Series Paper along with some black cardstock. The Carved and Candlelit Stamp Set is one of my favs.

2 Days in a Row!

Yah! I have posted 2 days in a row. This card was done for the card sketch challenge on SCS. Go there and check it out, and then post your card! I also tried to use colors I normally don't use, so, I got out my dusty ol' color coach and picked Almost Amethyst. Of course, the coordinating colors would have one of my very favorite colors in it - Pumpkin Pie! Oh well. I would never have put these colors together, so, that is what counts! I get in a rut and only use the colors that I really like, and while cleaning my cardstock station (such as it is...) the other day, I noticed I have lots of certain colors and almost none of others, so therefore, I challenged myself to begin to use the other stuff! Here is my card:

Okay, they are having trouble with picture uploading and are currently working on that. I will post it later.

I admire those of you who have time to post daily. I can't seem to find enough hours in the day for all I wish to do. I can't believe that I haven't blogged since the 8th!!!! I am sorry for all who check daily and find nothing. I will try to do better! I did get to go spend my birthday money and I got a cuttlebug, finally!!! I have only made one card with it, and hope to use it again today for the color challenge on SCS. The color is pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Such a worthy cause and a great reminder to all of the women. Here is my first card with the cuttlebug:

I made this card for the Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS. This was a lot of fun to do, and since I bought a box full of acetate, I will be making more. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Lots of cakes to make this weekend, and I won't be taking on so many ever again! Brown came today and brought my halloween stamps, so, I can't wait to get started. Hope you all have a great week!

It's My Birthday!

Hi Everyone! I have gotten to take it real easy today since it's my birthday, and I spent most of the day with my stamps. Or my cardstock. I got that all organized, and actually had time to do a little stamping. I have enjoyed my day, and actually got the tutorial finished that I was trying to get done. So, I am going to try to post it.

This is for a Halloween box that I did. If there are other tutorials out there for the same box, I apologize for reposting, I haven't seen them, and came up with these directions. Hope they make sense to everyone.

1. Stamp 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock all over with background stamp of choice. Then score paper at
2 1/2" , 4 1/2", 6 1/2", 8 1/2" and 10 1/2". Then score long sides at 1/2" and 2 1/2". I marked them so you could see them.

2. Cut sides at 1 1/2 " up to the second panel on one end. Make sure your uncut second panel is on the same end.

3.Cut sides up to the center lines.

4. Cut tabs at an angle, all except for the second panels.

5. Make all folds. Cut off small tabs on all 4 corners.

6. Put adhesive on 1st and 3rd panels on stamped side close to fold of flap. Fold in and adhere.

7. Adhere 1/2" flaps to inside of box.

8. Adhere 1/2" piece & flaps to lid.

9. Fold in to lid flap.

10.. Fold lid inside box and decorate.

11. My finished box:

Finally time to stamp!

I took a little time this evening to sit at my desk and stamp. I tried to go with the color challenge today, but, I don't have Blue Bayou so, I substituted Bordering Blue. Then I realized I don't have River Rock Card stock, either. So, I had to use creamy caramel. I like the way it came out, but it didn't fit the challenge, so I didn't post it there. I am working on a box tutorial, and hope to have it done soon. I am making it for halloween. Hope everyones week is going great.

Way too Busy!

I can't believe it has been almost a week since I have had time to update. And, I still have had NO TIME to stamp. I made my SU! order Sunday night, but, no time to lay. I did get the wedding cake done that I had to make. My son had a birthday, and we served dinner on the grounds at church on Sunday. Darling son has come down with a cold and feels miserable! So, he is home from school, which means taking care of him all day. Oh well.....I will update more later. Check back soon.
