Surprise Spider Lily

I guess that is what you call this, or so someone told me. I really got a surprise, because, I didn't even know I had this in my flower bed. Normally I have a lot of iris-es (LOL), but had to thin them out to repair some termite damage. They have not grown back in yet, and lo and behold - Surprise! I have spider lillies in my flower bed. I think the are gorgeous and will have to keep the iris' thinned there so they have a chance to shine.

Sunday is Church Day

We have Sunday School at 10, get home and eat lunch, I actually got to take a nap this past Sunday, (a very rare occurance), then we have to be back at 4:30 for choir practice, church starts at 6 pm, and we get home in time to go to bed. So, needless to say, Sundays will be a no posting day.

Monday - I had an IEP meeting at the school regarding my son, so, that took up the better part of the morning. It was my mother in law's birthday and she needed me to work her cake supply store so that she could get her license renewed. Then the evening we took her to Red Lobster. Got home in time to get kids bathed and in the bed.

Tuesday - I had errands to run that I didn't get done on Monday. So, I got supper in the oven and tried to work on the color challenge for SCS which is found here:

I really like these colors together. I would never have put these together by myself, which is why I love the challenges. Here is the card I came up with:

(I left the salutation spot blank, because I'm not sure what I will use it for).

No Time to Stamp

I am so sorry, there's been no time to blog. I took my son to the eye doctor on Thursday - he has to get stronger glasses, and that took up 1/2 the day. But the time you get housework done and supper cooked - well there wasn't much time left. Plus, we had a Ladies Devotional Dinner and Secret Pal Revealing on Thursday night.

Friday was spent sewing a jumper for my sister - she was going to a baby shower, and she wanted a little sleeveless jumper for that. Plus she needed her curtains cut off, so, that took up most of the day on Friday. I got to finish a book that I wanted to finish that evening.
And so here it is Saturday and I had joined a swap on SU-Girlfriends, so I worked on those today in order to get them in the mail. I won't post a picture yet, in case some of the recipents just happen to read this blog. After the swap is made, I will try to post a pic then. So, I will post an old card on todays post. This card was done as an inspiration challenge on SCS. I used the shaving cream technique. I loved the way this came out, and only have the picture, I gave this card to a friend of mine on her birthday. I love the different patterns. And the WISH on the circle. It was punched on the white in black and then punched on the black in white. I then matched up the lines. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Tuesdays Color Challenge

It seems I am running a day behind, but, I do a lot of my "playing" when the kids are finally in bed. And it seems that I am going to find it easier to post the next day. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone. Is it just me, or is there a lot of sickness going around? A week ago, my youngest had strep throat, then the middle one caught it a week later (Monday), now the oldest has had a night of sickness.....I have got to disinfect my house or somethin'! Oh well. I made this card for the color challenge on splitcoaststampers. There is also a very brave girl battling cancer who would like to receive cards from every state. If you have time, or could make time, read her story here - http://createdbycourtney.blogspot.com/ - and then try to get involved. It seems so little to ask. Thanks everyone, I hope you have a blessed day.

Yesterdays Challenge

Yesterdays Try A New Tecnique Challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to make a Jenn Box. This is what I came up with. I love this set and hate that SU! discontinued it. However I still use it quite frequently. There is a tutorial on how to make the box here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/25710box.php

I stamped the box with the gumball stamp using Real Red, Summer Sun, Glorious Green, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant. Then I stamped the GB machine on white and colored it using the stamp pads and an aqua painter. I cut it out and adhered it to the box.

I cut it at the line of the globe part and the bottom, and glued the top to the flap of the box and the bottom directly lined up under it. I used the 1/2" circle punch and punched some circles out of the coordinating card stock and used pop dots for depth. Very easy except for the masking of the gb's in the globe part. That was a little tricky.

1st Day of Blogging!

I am so excited! Hopefully this will be the first of many postings. Please be patient while I learn how all of this works.
